This vibrant salad delivers a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, savory, and spicy flavors, making it a delightful option for light lunches or dinners.


Ingredients

For the Salad:

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cucumber, julienned
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/4 cup roasted peanuts, chopped

For the Dressing:

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili flakes

Instructions

1. Prepare the Steak

  • Preheat a grill or stovetop pan to medium-high heat.
  • Rub the flank steak with olive oil, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Grill or sear for 4–5 minutes per side or until your desired doneness is achieved.
  • Remove from heat and let the steak rest for 5 minutes. Slice thinly against the grain.

2. Make the Dressing

  • In a large bowl, whisk together lime juice, fish sauce, honey, sesame oil, and chili flakes.

3. Assemble the Salad

  • Toss the sliced vegetables (bell pepper, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and red onion) with the dressing.
  • Add the sliced beef, cilantro, and mint. Toss gently to combine.
  • Garnish with chopped roasted peanuts.

4. Serve

  • Serve immediately and enjoy the burst of vibrant flavors.
