Ingredients
For the Beef Marinade:
- 500g beef, sliced
- 1 tsp baking soda (to tenderize the beef)
- 3/4 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 30–50 ml honey
For the Stir-Fry:
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 50g ginger, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 chili pepper, minced
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 2 purple onions, chopped
- Salt and spices for chicken (optional)
- Additional 1 tbsp soy sauce and oyster sauce
- 1/2 tsp cornstarch (dissolved in a little water)
Instructions
Tenderize the Beef:
- Marinate the sliced beef with 1 tsp baking soda for 10-15 minutes.
- Rinse the beef to remove the baking soda.
Prepare the Marinade: 3. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey. 4. Add the beef to the marinade and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
Cook the Beef: 5. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. 6. Sear the beef slices on both sides for about 3 minutes each. 7. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
Prepare the Vegetables: 8. In the same pan, add minced garlic and chili pepper. Sauté for 2 minutes. 9. Add the sliced bell peppers and chopped purple onions. Stir-fry for 5 minutes.
Combine and Finish: 10. Return the beef to the pan and mix well with the vegetables. 11. Season with salt and chicken spices (if using), and add soy sauce and oyster sauce. 12. Add the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce. 13. Stir everything well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
