  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
For the Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the Bake:
  • 12 ounces pasta (e.g., penne or rigatoni), cooked al dente
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatballs:
    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, milk, and seasonings (salt, pepper, nutmeg, allspice, garlic powder, and parsley).
    • Mix gently until just combined. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
    • Cook the meatballs in a large skillet over medium heat until browned on all sides and cooked through. Set aside.
  2. Make the Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
    • Gradually whisk in beef broth, ensuring no lumps form. Add heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
    • Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Assemble the Bake:
    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a large casserole dish, combine the cooked pasta, meatballs, and sauce. Mix gently to coat evenly.
    • Top with shredded Swiss cheese, white cheddar, and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Serve:
    • Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving. Optionally, garnish with additional parsley for a pop of color.
