  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
  • Additional butter or oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy for tender pancakes.

    • Lightly coat the pan with butter or oil.
  3. Cook the Pancakes:
    • Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
    • Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges start to set (approximately 2–3 minutes).
    • Flip the pancake and cook the other side until golden brown (1–2 minutes).
    • Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter or oil as needed.
  4. Serve:
    • Stack pancakes and serve warm with your choice of toppings such as maple syrup, whipped cream, fresh berries, or additional chocolate chips.
