Units Scale
  • For the Cajun Seasoning:
    • 2 teaspoons paprika
    • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Pasta:
    • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine
    • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
    • 2 garlic cloves, minced
    • 1/4 cup white wine (optional)
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
    • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
    • Fresh parsley and basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pasta:
    • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
  2. Season and Cook the Shrimp:
    • Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning, ensuring even coating.
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
    • Deglaze the pan with white wine, scraping up any browned bits, and let it reduce by half.
    • Stir in heavy cream, tomato paste, and crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Combine Ingredients:
    • Stir in Parmesan cheese and reserved pasta water to thicken the sauce.
    • Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat. Add the cooked pasta and mix until fully combined.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Top with fresh parsley and basil, if desired. Serve immediately with crusty bread or a side salad.
